Volta Trucks, a hypergrowth European Electric Truck Manufacturer, is looking for a Finance Business Partner – Material Costs (Procurement) to join our Finance department. The role is flexible with a mix of remote working and occasional travel to our office in Reading and also London.

This is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious scale-up at a pivotal point, where you will have the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of exciting and innovative EV products and partner with our procurement function who lead the sourcing of production materials for Volta products.

What you will do:

Reporting to the Head of Product Finance, you will strategically partner with our direct procurement function to drive material cost optimisation for the business and provide accurate planning, concise reporting and analysis to enable clear decision making aligned to the business strategy.

  • Be a true business partner to the Procurement director and direct procurement teams to manage and control material costs
  • You will support the development and implementation of cost reduction initiatives
  • Provide valuable analysis and insight to procurement and translate operational and performance data that supports key decision making
  • Take the lead for material cost control and change management, including management of contractual price adjustments i.e. raw material indices
  • Lead material cost tracking through product life-cycle and also own performance reporting

We would like you to have:

  • Qualified of studying towards CIMA, ACCA, ACA
  • Sound business partnering experience supporting senior stakeholders
  • Previous experience supporting/partnering with procurement, product/material costing functions
  • Knowledge and experience within automotive manufacturing is highly desirable
  • Strong financial analysis skills, including experience with cost accounting and variance analysis
