Volta Trucks, a hypergrowth European Electric Truck Manufacturer, is looking for a Packaging Engineering Manager to join our fast-growing Logistics and supply chain function. The role offers flexible working, and your time will be split between our new offices in Reading (1-2 days per week) and working remote.
What you will do:
Reporting to Head of Logistics, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the packaging strategy and you will be the main point of contact for discussions with other departments and organizations to create framework for the operation processes for the team.
- Managing and leading the Packaging Engineering team to ensure successful delivery of strategic projects and programmes.
- Developing and optimizing packaging solutions with respect to type bound packaging, standard packaging and one way packaging
- Liasson with Steyr and Manufacturing Engineering the operating requirements for performance and optimization
- Creating strong, long term and solid relationships with suppliers
We would like you to have:
- Degree qualified or significant equivalent experience
- Understanding and working knowledge of CAD/packaging modelling software
- Extensive experience in packaging engineering within logistics/supply chain
- Able to develop processes, establish standards and continually optimize
- Previous experience within automotive industry is preferred
