Volta Trucks, a hypergrowth European Electric Truck Manufacturer, is looking for a Senior Concepts System Engineer to join our Electrical - Architecture & Software department. This is a hybrid role split between our head offices in Reading, satellite offices in Warwickshire & remote working.
This is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious scale-up where you will have the opportunity to contribute to the manufacturing strategy for a forward thinking, rapidly expanding business.
What you will do
You will be instrumental in all aspects of capturing future product architecture direction and technology or feature concepts from stakeholders. Working with the existing Systems Engineering team and aligning with systems engineering processes you will be supporting planning for the cascade of concepts into the development of our future electrical systems. Being self-motivated and a confident, enthusiastic communicator and a technology visionary will be essential.
- Lead stakeholder reviews and collation of source evidence for future architectures, feature concepts and technologies relating to defined functionality or systems.
- Identify and provide multiple possible solutions to issues with risk analysis and business impact awareness to propose direction to stakeholders for the defined functionality or systems.
- Support definition of Volta road maps for electrical systems.
We would like you to have
- Degree in a related engineering topic
- 4 years+ automotive or electrical systems engineering experience, ideally in a systems engineering environment.
- Experience developing products and systems including the software, communications and hardware in line with automotive Functional Safety, Cybersecurity and Diagnostics standards
- Ideally experience with task management tools (JIRA) and MBSE SYSML tools
