Network and Diagnostic Validation Test Engineer

You will be joining the test and validation department and have exposure to all other domains. The team is responsible for electronics and control systems test and validation of diagnostics. The role provides good overview of the vehicle and will consist in system-to-system communication and reaction to fault insertion.

The role is based in Warwickshire.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for a set of subsystem/function testing and validation. This involves the following:
    • Review requirements and develop testing scenarios.
    • Implementation of the test scenarios in relevant Test assets (MIL, HIL, Vehicle).
    • Creation of Automated tests using (Vector VTest, dSpace Automation Desk).
    • Run manual and automated testing (component and system).
    • Provide continuous feedback in the team.
    • Author clear and concise test reports report.

    What we are looking for:

    Required:

    • Critical thinking and understanding of system engineering and vehicle integration.
    • Team player with willingness to share knowledge and learn from others.
    • In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostics architecture and relevant standards (J1979, ISO 13400, ISO 14229)
    • Solid understanding of CAN, LIN and Ethernet communication protocols.
    • Experienced with CANalyser/CANoe/VTestStudio toolset.
    • Ability to understand complex embedded systems.
    • 3+ years relevant experience (EV vehicles preferably)

    Nice to have:

      • DIY attitude (preferably in software and electronics).
      • First principles understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and embedded systems.
      • Powertrain Controls and Calibration experience.
      • Experience with diagnostic software implementation.
      • Proficient with Matlab/Simulink (scripting and control strategy development).
      • Familiar with dSpace/Vector HIL systems.
      • Experience with embedded microcontrollers.
      • ISTQB certification.
      • Process improvement and troubleshooting fault finding (6σ, 8D).
      • Experience in version control tools (GIT, SVN).
      • Familiar with SAE J1939 standard.
